Jason Bradbury

Deputy Director, Data and Insight,

Jason Bradbury is Ofsted’s Chief Statistician and the Deputy Director for Data and Insight. As an analytical leader with 25 years’ across government experience Jason is passionate about the role of data in effective decision making and the risk of over or mis-interpretation. Jason moved to Ofsted from the Office for National Statistics in January where he filled a number of senior leadership roles, including: Programme Director for Data Collection Transformation; Deputy Director for Business Outputs; and, Deputy Director for Government Statistical Service Strategy. Jason is excited to be at Ofsted and leading innovative work to help achieve Ofsted’s vision as a Force for Improvement.

  • Exploring how Ofsted monitors and tracks school data to perform risk assessments and determine the inspections schedule
  • Analysing the role of Ofsted’s Inspection Data Summary Report (IDSR) and how this informs the inspection process and acts as a guide for core areas of inquiry
  • Demonstrating to Ofsted how a school measures progress and attainment against age-related expectations to successfully improve pupil attainment
  • Evaluating the future of data science and analytics within Ofsted’s monitoring of performance and risk
